To be a leader, it is important to view your workday differently in order to maximize spending your time on the highest value activities.
Here is a wakeup fact to consider: a recent survey of Human Resource representatives estimated that the average worker wasted 94 minutes of every day (not counting lunch and other allowed breaks). While you may think that seems high, the same survey found that the average employee admitted to wasting about 3 hours of every workday!
Effective leaders set good examples by continuously engaging in high value activities, refusing to waste time.
What are the most important tasks you that must complete to make the greatest contribution to your organization? To your family? To your life in general? Take time to think it through and make a list.
Next ask your boss what she feels are your highest value activities. Be on a mission to fully define your highest value activities for this season of your career. Then, focus on those activities like a laser beam and you will experience rapid growth.
